Portland Post Punk
Don't wurde 2009 in Portland gegründet, als Jenny Don't (Gesang und Gitarre) auf Schlagzeuger Sam Henry (Wipers, Napalm Beach, The Rats) traf.
Kürzlich stießen noch Gitarrist Eric "Vegetable" Olson von Poison Idea und Bassist Kelly Halliburton (Pierced Arrows, Problems, Defiance) dazu, was Don't endgültig zur Portland Punk-All-Star-Band macht.
Verschiedene Generationen der kreativsten Köpfe der Portland Punkszene kreieren gemeinsam einen Sound zwischen dunklem Post-Punk über Rock’n’Roll bis zu Punkrock, bleiben aber immer melodisch. Dazu kommt eine gute Dosis Wipers und vor allem die ausdrucksvolle Stimme Jenny's, die zum Teil an Siouxsie Sioux erinnert.
Die Authentizität der Band und die Intensität ihrer Live-Shows machte Don't schon von ihrer ersten Show an zum Geheimtipp. In den USA und Europa wuchs jedoch rasend schnell eine treue Fangemeinde.
Nach ihrem ersten Album “Away Away” (Doomtown Sounds), diversen Singles sowie ausgedehnten USA und Europe Touren, veröffentlichen Don't 2016 ihr neues Album "Fever Dreams" in den USA (Doomtown Sounds) und Deutschland (Rockstar Records).
Twisted Chords veröffentlichen im Frühling 2017 passend zur drei-wöchigen Europa-Tour von Don't ihre neue Single "Enough is Enough".

"Von Don’t habe ich bisher eigentlich nur Gutes gehört, entsprechend gespannt war ich auf ihr neues Album “Fever Dreams”. Und ich muss sagen, ich kann jetzt verstehen, warum so viele Menschen von dieser Band schwärmen. Das ist bester Oldschool-Punkrock ohne großen Sperenzien mit einer Sängerin an Bord, die wirklich singen kann und deren klare Stimme mich das ein oder andere Mal an die junge Penelope Houston erinnert. Don’t klingen für mich auf “Fever Dreams” wie eine moderne Version der Avengers und das ist als großes Kompliment gemeint... Unter den neun Songs auf “Fever Dreams” ist kein einziger Ausfall zu verzeichnen."

The Dizzy Brains sind eine Garage Rock Band, inspiriert von den Sonics und den Stooges. Ihre intensive Live Show bläst alles weg.
Sie kommen aus Madagaskar, einem der ärmsten und korruptesten Länder der Welt. Gegründet wurde die Band von zwei Brüdern, die gegen die Ungleichheit singen und kämpfen, gegen den Mangel an Perspektiven und die Einschränkungen der Freiheit im Alltag der Madagassen.
Die Liebe zum Rock'n'Roll kommt von der Generation ihrer Väter, wobei sie Little Richard gegenüber Elvis Presley den Vorzug gaben. Mit ihren Songs wollen sie bewusst provozieren: "Wir laufen nie im Radio und können in keinen Konzerthallen auftreten, da die Betreiber Angst vor Problemen haben, die sie nach unserem Auftritt bekommen könnten."
The Dizzy Brains sind regelmäßige Gäste im französischen Fernsehen und tourten bereits in Deutschland, den Niederlanden, Frankreich, Großbritannien, Südkorea usw.
Im Jahr 2019 bringen sie ihr brandneues zweites Album "Tany Razana" nach Europa, wie schon das erste beim französischen Label X-Ray Production erschienen.

Petes Mutter war eine Dinner Lady (so nennt man in England die Frauen, die in Schulcafeterias das Essen servieren), und er hat Ihr alle Ehre gemacht. Pete Bentham & The Dinner Ladies sind Vorreiter der Liverpooler Musikszene.
Sie spielen rohen, unverfälschten Punk'n'Roll beeinflusst von den Cramps, The Fall und Velvet Underground, mit witzigen und geistreichen Texten über's richtige Leben, über Türsteher und LKW-Fahrer, Katzen und Hunde, gegen Konsumdenken und Rassismus.
Was zuvor geschah: Zwei Alben, eine EP, ein paar Europa-Touren, Auftritte mit The Damned, The Beat, den New York Dolls, und im Mai 2014 erschien ihr drittes Album „I Heart Here“ bei Antipop Records.

"Their infectious fusion of ska, folk and, er, circus music (that’s the only way to describe it, honest) seems a good enough reason to work off Pete’s (legendary) free Veggie Scouse via the medium of boogie... Comedy is as much a part of Pete's act as the music; he enthusiastically explains the meaning behind songs, such as 'Nature', which was inspired by a conversation with a self-righteous hippy...

"When all of the band kick in, the sound is tremendous; Pete thrashing away on his guitar trying to wear out the scratch plate (and his elbow); Gabrielle bashing the hell out of the drums. Those diehards resisting the kitchen assault were all to be reigned in with the totally interactive 'Hip Potater'. Here, Pete had the crowd in the palm of his hand, ordering them to shout back the words 'Hip Potater, Hip Potater' at his command. A truly marvellous spectacle… You must give this band a listen, preferably live."
